Trauma affects the individual, families, and communities by disrupting healthy development and learning. Whether experienced or witnessed, the compounds of severe trauma can impact school attendance, behavior, and overall student academic achievement. With a panel of experts, this workshop will focus on the causes, resources, and challenges facing students whose trauma has gone unnoticed. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss how unaddressed trauma can adversely impact student learning, and more importantly, how we can initiate trauma-informed schools and communities.
