Executive Committee
This workshop will assess and critique the current state of activism and civil disobedience, both locally and nationally, by investigating the goals and outcomes that are being sought as a result of current activism efforts. Additionally, the workshop will make an informed comparison of tactics used in present and past movements, particularly those prevalent during the Civil Rights Movement, versus those used in the digital age. Finally, the workshop will discuss the role of sustained civic engagement to move us beyond anger and frustration to advocacy, agency, and action.
