The Emerging Civic Leaders Committee of the Empowerment Congress engages leaders under the age of 40 in opportunities surrounding civic engagement, advocacy, and philanthropy. Through engagement, education, and empowerment, the committee develops a pipeline of dedicated community advocates throughout Los Angeles County.
Goals
- Increase civic engagement among leaders ages 21-40
- Create an exponential awareness about social justice and equity issues by educating and engaging ECL Committee members and their networks
- Provide knowledge on local, state and national policy issues in efforts to inform ECL members about pressing issues
