The Arts & Culture Committee welcomed over 80 participants at their 23rd Annual Empowerment Congress Summit workshop, ChARTing a Vision: Arts for Community Revitalization. Featuring a panel including James Burks (LA City Department of Cultural Affairs), Robyn Gardenhire (City Ballet of Los Angeles), Karen Mack (LA Commons), Jameelah Nuriddin (Imaginese Productions), and Sabra Williams (The Actors’ Gang Prison Project).

The workshop provided insight on developing an arts community framework and partnering with funders, and discussed the importance of the arts to community revitalization. The workshop also included an interactive and informative “pitch training” segment, which acted as a springboard to prepare artists for our next Arts Tune-Up, focused on arts and community revitalization.
