Description: Violence is a public health issue that impacts all with disproportionate effects on people of color. In light of the recent events in Ferguson, Missouri and other tragic events across the country and here in South Los Angeles, this workshop will utilize a public health frame to connect the impact of violence to health outcomes. Panelists from a variety of fields will share violence prevention resources and interventions. Attendees will have an opportunity to dialogue with panelists to formulate feasible strategies and potential next steps to reduce violence in the 2nd Supervisorial District.
