On Wednesday, June 19, 2019, the EC Senior Services Committee convened 15 guests for “Protecting Seniors: Know Your Rights.” The event focused on dialogue involving seniors needing to learn and know their protections and rights against unfair housing practices, predatory consumer scams, rent & eviction controls in the city and county, conservatorships/legal guardian representative, and so on. Panelists included various County department representatives, such as Ms. Connie Draxler from the Office of the Public Guardian (Department of Mental Health), Mr. David Kochen from Adult Protective Services (Workforce Development, Aging, and Community Services), and Ms. Jessica Gallegos from the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs.
