The East Los Angeles Empowerment Congress has as its top priority to promote economic development and revitalization, especially in the small business sector, in this unincorporated area of Los Angeles that is largely Latino. They are also working to build civic engagement among community members by organizing and mobilizing groups to be more invested in local health and education projects. Their team members represent a wide range of organizations, including government staff, nonprofit community-based organizations, and health services.
