SUMMARY:Community Empowerment Training Session
DESCRIPTION:The Community Empowerment Training Session is a transformative training through which participants can strengthen their capacity to lead through story telling. Facilitated by Sarah ElRaheb from Harvard University\, this has proven to be an invaluable tool for public leaders\, community organizers\, students\, and leaders across a range of organizations and communities.\n \nWHY “STORIES”?  \nStories enable us to communicate our values as lived experiences  rather than abstract principles. They have the power to move  people and inspire change by evoking shared values that motivate  others to action. You may think that your personal story does not matter or that people are not interested. However\, those engaged in public work or leading organizations have the responsibility to offer an account of who they are\, why they do what they do\, and where they hope to lead. If one does not author their own story\, others likely will\, and it may not be as one wishes.  \nDuring this introductory program\, participants will gain skills that include: \n\nHow to craft one’s public narrative  \nHow to connect one’s story to that of their community to motivate commitment to a shared purpose and call to action\nHow to analyze the role of narrative in moments of critical  change and use tools to enable others’ agency  \nHow to increase one’s capacity to lead others using the public narrative framework \n\nPlease complete the form below to register. \nLoading…
